Agriscience

The agriculture industry is comprised of many different pathways such as animal science, plant science, natural resources, and agri-business. Agriculture is the fundamental base for much of our daily lives from the clothes we wear, to the food we eat, to the vehicles we drive.  It is important for our students to be knowledgeable of the different areas because of their effect on our lives.

Within the agriculture program here at Augusta Evans, students take part in learning about animal and food sciences by digging deeper into where food comes from besides the shelf at the grocery store. Plant science is another major focus area in which we are able to utilize our own greenhouse for hands on learning. This is a vital resource used so students have the ability to further their knowledge through gaining experience working with a variety of plants. After learning about and growing the different plants, we have a plant sale in both the fall and spring time which gives students the ability to work on their communication and sales skills with customers.
